Campaign style handles are signified by their being recessed with the bail handles being flush with the side of the box. They get their name from "military campaigns" in which this style of hardware was preferred to keep chests and storage trucks stacked perfectly together without the hardware interfering. These bail handles project 9/16" from the face of the furniture.
